Highland Adventures...

The Royal Hotel, Ullapool is ideally situated to explore the highways and byways of this beautiful part of Scotland. Few areas in the country can offers such diversity of landscape and feature ranging from the most majestic scenery imaginable to craggy and rugged terrain that only the bravest of creatures would dare to tackle. Wester Ross stretches from Achiltibuie and the isolated Coigach peninsula in the north, to Loch Carron at the southern extremity and is a magnet for climbers from throughout Europe. On the doorstep of The Royal Hotel are Beinn Deargh, The Fennaichs and An Teallach. A little bit further on lies Suilven and the incomparable Stac Pollaidh and Beinn More Coigach. Within a short drive Beinn Eighe and nearby Leithach feature amongst the favourite Torridon mountains and hillwalkers and climbers flock to this area at all times of year to tick them off their list.

 

 

Summer Isles

 

Again within a short drive lie the stunning and magnificent Summer Isles. The drive there is through spectacular and memorable scenery, but for those who prefer to be taken, a boat trip from The Jetty and Ulllapool will take you on a magical sailing trip, spotting whales, porpoises and dolphins on the way. For hillwalkers, wildlife enthusiasts, birdwatchers and the fishing fraternity, Wester Ross offers an abundance of opportunity to indulge in their particular pastimes. The area is home to birds, wildlife and rare species such as Scotland's golden eagles, pine martens, sea eagles and wildcats.
